Events From 2005WHAT A FUN DAY!!!!!
Approximately 500 adults and children enjoyed a wonderful day at Fiddlesticks on October 29, 2005. We were pleased to have four visitors from Eastern Social Welfare Society join us for this fun time. In addition to unlimited rides, we enjoyed great Korean food, a terrific band, a chance to bid on silent auction items, a sale table filled with many items to buy and, most of all, a chance to meet old and new friends. The fundraiser was a success and we are pleased that we will be able to donate additional funds to Eastern Social Welfare Society so that they can continue the wonderful work that they do.
DILLON SOUTHWEST'S GOLF CLASSIC 2005 WAS A HUGE SUCCESS!Thanks to all of our sponsors, volunteers and golfers, our Dillon Southwest Golf Tournament 2005 was a wonderful success.
This year's tournament was held on June 11th at the beautiful Legend Trail Golf Club in north Scottsdale. Participants were able to enjoy a cool Saturday morning, a shotgun start, 18 holes of golf, a silent auction and lunch.
Proceeds from this event will aid in assisting adoptees through their journey into adulthood as well as the funding of future cultural events. Thank you to the staff of Legend Trail Golf Club for their extraordinary help. A special thank you to all of the golfers who took part in this wonderful day. CHILDREN'S DAY 2005 - A FUN DAY FOR EVERYONE!
On Saturday, April 16th, families and staff of Dillon Southwest gathered to celebrate Children's Day. A great big THANK YOU to our great Children's Day committee who planned arts and crafts, a martial arts demonstration, the Children's Parade and, of course, a time to gather with new and old friends.

Members of the National Classical Music Association of Korea spent one week in Phoenix teaching our children the sounds and movements of Korean culture. Eighty-five children and adults enjoyed the four day camp and became proficient enough in what they learned. The children were able to perform for the audience prior to the one and one-half hour performance presented by the National Classical Music Association on Saturday evening. With the support of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Korea, the group was delighted to have this opportunity to introduce the pride and spirit of Korean culture to Dillon Southwest adoptees, their parents and members of the Korean community. We were thrilled to have Lee, Young-Hee, President of the Korean Traditional Music Association and a “Human Treasure” of Korea, along with fifteen music and dance artists, join us for this fun-filled week. The Saturday evening performance was well attended and enjoyed by all. It featured several different expressions of Korean art.
Ms. Lee, Young-Hee expressed the sentiment of the group by stating, “I wish this event will give you that moment to feel the aroma of your roots, your country, Korea. I really hope you would enjoy and soak into the fragrance of Korea and wear that with you all the time when you go back home.” We are very pleased that we were able to share this wonderful cultural experience with our families and friends. |
