Events From 2006A WONDERFUL TIME WAS HAD BY ALL!This year, our annual Korean-American Thanksgiving Celebration (Chusok) was held at Fiddlesticks. Dillon Southwest families and friends enjoyed a fun filled day. Those who attend had the opportunity to indulge themselves with four hours of unlimited attractions, enjoy Korean food and meet with new and old friends. Approximately 500 adults and children tried their skills at playing miniature golf, challenging friends to the finish line on the curvy go-cart path, showing off batting cage skills, and experiencing the exhilarating game of laser tag.
Our friends from the Arizona Agape Mission Church provided Korean food for all to savor and enjoy.
Families were also able to spend time meeting special guests.
Those attending were treated to a variety of Korean songs. We thank each and everyone of you who helped, donated items and attended the event. Together, we were able to raise funds for Eastern Social Welfare Society. These funds will go directly to helping them help the children in their care. Thanks again for your help and support! Friends enjoying the day and helping a good cause! Dillon Southwest is delighted to announce that this year's Golf Classic, 2006, raised over $9,000 to assist in bringing children and families together through adoption. The tournament was held on June 10th at the beautiful Legend Trail Golf Club in north Scottsdale. Participants were able to enjoy a cool Saturday morning with a shotgun start, 18 holes of golf, a silent auction and lunch. Each participant was given the opportunity to demonstrate their skills by trying to win a new Infiniti in the Hole in One contest. Dillon Southwest also welcomed a special guest. An adult adoptee, placed by our agency, who is now a professional golfer on a mini tour, was able to attend our event and help us raise money for the Korean adoption program by setting up a "Beat the Pro" contest for willing golfers. Thank you to our sponsors, our Pro, volunteers, golfers, and Legend Trail Golf course and their staff for helping us make a difference in the lives of children and families!

CHILDREN'S DAY, 2006 - A FUN TIME FOR ALL!
On Saturday, April 8th, Dillon Southwest hosted our annual Children's Day Picnic at Scottsdale Ranch Park. Children and families enjoyed crafts, a scavenger hunt, Korean tattoos, a picnic lunch and visiting with new and old friends. The highlight of the day was the Hanbok Parade. Children and adults joined in the fun as we followed the tiger prints along the parade route.
A special thank you to all of the families who donated items for the children who live at Jacob's Home in Korea. We know that they will be thrilled with your gifts! This wonderful day was planned and coordinated by two of our moms, Kim and Leighanne. A great big thank you to both of you and to the volunteers who helped that day! |
