Making A Difference

Sponsorship Program

Please help these angels...

While many are blessed with so much, there are many children who are not able to enjoy such blessings and live in loneliness and poverty. Please share your blessings with less fortunate children and the needy in Korea.

Let them know there is someone out there who cares about them. You can make a difference in their future with so little… $25.00 per month!

If you would like to help, apply now by filling out our sponsorship form.

When filling out the sponsorship form, you can choose to apply your donations to any of the following services provided by Eastern Social Welfare Society, Inc.

  • Babies in Need of Special Care – Among those babies waiting for adoption, there are many that need special care. Approximately 30% of these babies have medical problems and are in need of special attention. Your help is urgently needed to ensure a better future for these babies.

  • Orphans with Impairments – Unfortunately, some Korean parents choose not to keep their children when they find out that they are disabled. Eastern Social Welfare Society operates a Rehabilitation Center for the disabled children from the ages 5 to 18 years.

  • Orphans under the Age of Three – Eastern Social Welfare Society runs “Jacob’s Home” for children who were relinquished by their single/divorced parents, and financially unstable families. Some of them are lost children. Until they are returned to their parents, adopted or transferred to a long-term facility, Jacob’s Home provides these children with a home-like environment. When the child is transferred to another orphanage as he turns three, we match you with another child.

  • Korean Students Who Want to Continue Education – Unlike the United States, high school education in Korea is not "free" and some families need assistance with financing their child's education.  You can help these children finish school and give them a brighter future.

  • Pregnant Single Mothers without Financial Sources – It is very difficult for pregnant, single women in Korea to work or earn money, and most often they have no one they can turn to. Eastern Social Welfare Society operates a shelter, Esther’s Home, for these women, providing them with various educational services as well as basic necessities during their pregnancies.

  • Other Services – Eastern Social Welfare Society runs various aid programs for starving children in North Korea, senior citizens living in Seoul, homeless people, and children who are temporarily being taken care of. Your donation will be used for the improvement in both the quantity and quality of services we provide for those in need.

United Way

Many of our families take part in contributing to the United Way. You may choose to donate to Dillon Southwest as part of your United Way campaign. When you are pledging money through your employer or making an individual donation, you can help by using our United Way ID #0115, as well as our name. This is another great way to assist in “bringing children and families together”!

Cash Donations

Normally, we use any donations received for one of four specific purposes:

  1. To support various child care programs overseas.
  2. To help with adoption costs related to the placement of children with special needs
  3. To finance any specific needs at Dillon Southwest
  4. To sponsor cultural programs, such as culture activities or camps, for the adoptive children placed by our agency. Occasionally a specific need arises in which we are able to use cash donations to meet that need, such as baby aspirators, bottles, medical supplies etc. for Eastern Social Welfare Society in Korea.

Cash donations also allow our agency to avoid the labor-intensive need to store, sort, pack, and send donated items. Donated money prevents the cost of air or sea transportation that donated goods require.

If you wish to make a cash donation, please specify how you would like this money to be utilized so that we may assure it is distributed accordingly. Remember that no donation is too small. We are grateful for any support that we receive in helping us bring children and families together. For your records, we are a 501(c)(3) corporation and our Federal Tax ID number is 86-0648183.

Item Donations / Baby Clothing

There is always a need for clothes and various items for the babies that are still in the care of our overseas agencies. If you would like to help out, we would be happy to accept donations. New clothes and tennis shoes (sizes 9 months to 2 years), blankets, or small toys for toddlers can be dropped off at our office during business hours. You can also donate money to help purchase needed items. Any amount is most appreciated. Once our suitcases are filled, we will send them along with our traveling families. Please contact Dillon Southwest if you should have any questions or wish to discuss a particular need.

Volunteers

Dillon Southwest welcomes anyone wishing to donate their time to assist with our events to do so. The agency hosts two major events each year. One of these events is a fundraising event, which is a vital part of our continued existence as we are a non-profit organization. The second event, Children's Day, is a joint event with the Korean Community. It is a celebration of all children, especially those who have joined their families through our agency. If you wish to make new friends and help us by becoming a member of our volunteer team, please contact our office at 480-945-2221.
